I work at the hipersys lab in the department of computer science, and I tinker around with computer systems, some hardware, and mostly low-level software like the operating system and so forth. So in other words I break the system that I am trying to study. Its fun and exciting, our field is experimental computer science, hard to get results, but very rewarding if you like building stuff that can affect millions of ppl.
So besides my super exciting work, I also have a fun student life, and I really enjoy it, god knows when its all going to over and I will join the rat race, but hey lets not get too emotional here man, its all good. I think my life is atypical of a grad student, and in that I have no $$ but no loans, so guess what the economic crisis means to me, you got that right, nada zilch, so Obama can tout all his plans, atleast for now I am not affected. I do hope that things pick up though, so I can get a REAL job, scary man the thought in itself, but well I think I have had my share of eating Ramen noodles and M&M's for lunch !! Time to contribute to the economy and move on, alteast I say that to myself once a week, maybe one of these days I might actually look for a job !
